symbolic creatures that guide the "people" through the various complexities of their life course. The figures are falling towards a kiva, and then into the sipapu. The dark winged figure represents the dark forces in life, including death. The central figure is the vital life force of reproduction, vitality and joy. On the right the inverted figure represents fate, the unknowable future, the crow intelligence and freedom, and the snake is the embodiment of strength and stealth.
