As with other social networks, LinkedIn lets you create a company page to better represent your business on the site. Even if you already have an individual profile, you should still create a company page. Adding a page helps people find out more about your company without having to know your name. Think of it as a professional page to showcase your products, services and even job opportunities.

LinkedIn company pages are a bit more professional than those on other social networks. When your company is found on LinkedIn, people trust the information. With the strict requirements, only the most trustworthy are even able to create pages. Create a page and inspire confidence among your connections.

Company pages gives you the ability to provide in-depth details about your business. You can list other LinkedIn members who are connected to the company. The Careers section gives you the option of finding the best of the best on LinkedIn to fill open positions, though this feature does require a paid subscription. Most importantly, though, is the Products & Services section. Not only can you highlight what your company has to offer, but other LinkedIn members can add their recommendations, further increasing the trust level of your company.

How To Create
Now that you know why you need one, it’s time to create your own company page. First, you must meet a few requirements. You must be a current employee with the position listed on your profile. Your company must have it’s own unique domain email address. Public domains such as Yahoo or Gmail are not applicable. Finally, your profile has to be classified as either Intermediate or All Star. If you don’t meet these requirements, you can create a group instead of a page.

Adding the page isn’t difficult once you’ve met the requirements. Log-in to your LinkedIn account. Make sure you’re on the home page after logging in.

Step 1: Click Companies. This is located around the top of the home page.
Step 2: Click Add a Company.
Step 3: Enter the name of your company along with your email address. Be sure to use your work email.
Step 4: Press Continue and enter all other relevant company information.

You will not be able to preview the page. You can only publish and see it live.

Problems
If you have any problems creating your company page, you may not meet all the requirements. Check that your company email address has been verified on your profile. If not, you will need to check your email for a confirmation link before the page can be created. Another common problem occurs when you try to create two company pages with the same email. A single email can only be tied to one company page.
